The blend of ingredients will make this crab dip a hit at any party

This deliciously rich recipe for crab dip is more labor intensive than most, but is well worth it. You can even experiment with ingredient quantities - or exchange them for other favorites - to make it your very own "secret" ultimate crab dip.

Ultimate Crab Dip

½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup minced green onions
4 eight-ounce bricks cream cheese, softened
16 ounces crabmeat, flaked and drained
½ cup parsley, chopped
1 cup celery, minced
¾ cup red bell pepper, chopped
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons hot mustard
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 teaspoons cayenne
1 teaspoon dried ginger
1 teaspoon dried Thyme
Salt to taste

In a large saucepan, let butter melt over a low flame. Add onions, cream cheese, and crab meat. Blend thoroughly and remove from heat. Add rest of the ingredients and continue stirring. Serve immediately or refrigerate. It is tasty warm or cold and is a great accompaniment for tortilla chips, crackers, and veggies.

This recipe is designed as a party dish. You can easily halve the recipe for a smaller group.
