This hot crab dip is easy to make in the microwave
The terrific flavor or crab blends with processed and cream cheese to make a quick and easy dip that can be prepared in the microwave. You can also bake it in the oven, but keep a very close watch on the cheese. It's easy to overcook and the cheese will definitely curdle.
Hot Crab and
Cheese Dip (Microwave)
6 ounces crab meat
Place onion and butter in a 1 ½-quart microwave safe dish and cook on high for about 2 minutes. Make sure onion is tender. Add cornstarch, pepper, milk, and Worcestershire. Stir and cook uncovered for about 4 minutes. Check for thickening and mild bubbling. Mixture may look curdled. Add cheese, crab meat, cream cheese, and parsley. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes at a slightly reduced power level to prevent burning. Stir frequently and do not let cheese overcook.
This is a great
fondue recipe, but can also be served in smaller, individual bowls.
It will need reheating as the cheese thickens. Serve with crackers,
veggies, and chips.
