This recipe is easy to throw together and uses all your favorite pizza toppings
This is a dish that both kids and adults will love and, like many casseroles, is easy to throw together. You'll taste those wonderful pizza flavors without having to roll out dough.
Pizza casserole should be cooked in a deep dish so the bottom layer can form a crust. Add any of your favorite toppings and even bake in separate dishes to please the different tastes within your group.
16 ounces Elbow
1 14-oz. jar pizza
Prepare pasta per package directions. Drain and pour into a deep casserole dish. Add milk and eggs and mix well.
Cook sausage and drain grease. In a bowl, combine sausage, onion, bell pepper, and seasoning.
Pour 1/2 jar pizza sauce on top of noodles and spread to cover. Do not blend into noodles. Layer in the meat and vegetable mixture. Add the remaining pizza sauce and cover the meat layer. You can top with other ingredients, such as mushrooms, black olives, and pepperoni. Combine Cheddar and Mozarella and layer on top.
Preheat oven to
350 degrees. Bake for about an hour or until a "crust" forms
on bottom. If bottom does not form crust after an hour, up the temperature
to 375 degrees and continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes. Sprinkle
parmesan and pepper flakes on top as desired.
