Want to have the perfect gathering? Here's how!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and time moves quickly. It's not too early to put together your timeline and decide who's going to be at your table this year. At Our House and Garden, we've prepared a long list of ideas for setting the table and planning for the big feast.

You'll find tons of recipes ranging from the traditional to some that will let you expand beyond the oven-baked bird. If you've been putting it off, a deep-fried turkey may be just the answer. There's plenty more info starting with the basics on how to choose a bird and what size you need. We want to keep it safe, as well, with thawing tips and tricks for serving, plus keeping those leftovers in great shape. If you love pumpkin, you'll find our easy to make reduced sugar recipe quite tasty. In addition, we have kid-friendly pudding and a mousse with rum for the grownups.

If you're wondering how etiquette fits in at the table, we have you covered. You'll find notes on how to be a good hostess and suggestions for how to behave as a guest. Don't forgot those individuals with dietary differences, from vegetarians to people with sugar or carbohydrate concerns.

Beverages are another important of the Thanksgiving table so we've included suggestions for wine pairings (with a nod toward those who drink iced tea!). With any of these suggestions, you'll be able to stay within your Thanksgiving budget and still have a great time.

Make your table pretty and take advantage of our gadget recommendations for the kitchen. Your job will be easier and everything will look so festive and welcoming.

Now it's time to get to your list-making. With a timeline in place, you can enjoy the thoughts of gathering with friends and family around your very best Thanksgiving dinner yet!
