White Chocolate Cake Topping

Dress up any cake with this decadent sauce

You don't have to purchase a fancy cake from the local bakery to have a superior and decadent dessert. In fact, it's as easy as opening a box of cake mix and creating this delightful recipe for sauce. While you may choose not to skimp for a special occasion, this white chocolate cake topping will elicit many flavor-induced oohs and aahs from your guests or family.

The ingredients are simple enough to keep on hand and you surely will after serving it the first time!

White Chocolate Cake Topping

1 ½ ounces white chocolate
3 cups milk (whole is best)
1 package cook-and-serve vanilla pudding (instant will not work)
Chocolate syrup (any type - you'll use a little for decor if desired)

Add the chocolate, milk and pudding in a saucepan. Stir until powder is dissolved. Preheat a burner to medium then set saucepan on. Stir continuously while mixture thickens - about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool, while stirring occasionally. Place in bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Have cake slices ready just before serving. Remove sauce and with a whisk bring up to a pourable consistence. Pour some of the sauce on the plate and place cake slice in middle. Drizzle some sauce on top. To add some contrast, dot regular chocolate syrup on white sauce. Use a knife tip to create swirls or any desired design. Garnish with strawberries.

This white chocolate cake topping is the ultimate in rich taste and your guests will never know that the cake is less than a gourmet delight.

Of course, you can also create a Double-Double chocolate cake topping. Just substitute chocolate chunks and chocolate pudding for the white chocolate and vanilla pudding. Add a few pretty cake sprinkles on top and you'll have a double-rich sauce.
