The Easiest Cobbler

Regardless of which fruit you find in season, this easy cobbler will be a hit

Fruit varieties come and go and, with each appearance, the appeal of desserts and snacks begin build momentum. This is one easy recipe for cobbler than can be used with a variety of fruits. All you have to do is keep an eye on the baking time. You can even mix and match your favorites.

You can experiment with peaches, apples, berries, whatever suits you - try combinations for an interesting twist on the basics.

Easy Cobbler
About 6-8 servings

2 cups granulated sugar (to be divided 1 cup/1 cup)
3 cups fruit
1 stick margarine
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 cup flour
¾ cup milk
Cinnamon to taste

In a bowl, combine fruit and 1 cup sugar and mix well.
Use a 9 x 11-inch baking or casserole dish. Melt the margarine and swirl lightly to coat.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a separate bowl, blend the remaining 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and flour. Add milk and stir. Pour into baking dish. Hand-place the fruit on top (do not stir).
Bake for approximately one hour or until fruits are done. Remove from oven and sprinkle with cinnamon.
